Karolina Dzimira-Zarzycka graduated in art history and Polish studies from the University of Wroclaw, Poland.
She is the author of the books „Własna pracownia. Gdzie tworzyły artystki przełomu wieków” [Studio of One’s Own: Where Female Artists Created at the Turn of the Century] and „Samotnica. Dwa życia Marii Dulębianki” [The Recluse: Two Lives of Maria Dulębianka], recognized as one of the best Polish biographies of 2022 (finalist for the Upper Silesian „Juliusz” Literary Award) and one of the best prose debuts (long-listed for the Conrad Award).
For many years, she has written popular science articles about women’s art, culture, and history, often highlighting lesser-known figures: artists, travelers, researchers, and social activists.
She also runs the blog „Prenumeratorka,” dedicated to similar topics.
